Help me find a similar floorplan

Hi everyone, My hubby and I are looking for either a new TT or 5W. We have looked at just about everything and have decided we really like the floor plan that has a party couch with 2 dinettes and a angled TV (so we can actually see it from most of the couch). We need a bunkhouse and would love it to have a table for the kids to play among themselves. Hubby really wants an outdoor kitchen, but that's not a necessity. I really like having an island, but as long as there is some counter space I can work with, that's OK too. Here are 2 we have found. We are upgrading hubbies truck with this too, and are having a hard time finding a dually, and the 5th wheel we found would need one, so are still looking for a floor plan similar that may be a bit lighter. We are planning on a F350 diesel 6.7 or equivalent. Here is what we have found. Any suggestions? Our price range (actual price paid not msrp) is 20k-45k, for 45k it would have to be VERY impressive.

Roamer 367bhs (5th wheel)

Agreed, on paper and trying to put sheets on a bed are two different things. When we kind of decided on the OR had the same issue, I would google the model and they would be at dealers in Texas, North Dakota,Washington State everywhere but close. I kept googling the model number every few weeks and it finally showed up at a dealer two hours away.

I looked at RVs with slide(s), but chose not to buy. With my luck, it would break when in the extended position. I have a large black cloud over my head, and it follows me around. 😄

We are just the opposite very touchy feely. We knew by the floor plan and pictures that it was the one but till we had some time to be in it lay on the bed open the storage units and visualize stuff in them sit on the couches and chairs (kicked back in the recliners and watched TV) stand in the shower and sit on the toilet (pants up of course) we could not sign the papers.
Luckily our dealer was not busy that day and afforded us more than enough time to do these things, and any dealer should do so. He did sort of a condensed PDI then left us alone in the coach to think it over.

But yes it does take time to find the one and multiple trips. We looked almost two years before finding the one we have now.

We are the same way. Something can look great on paper, but unless I can see a touch it, I just won't know.
I have realized if I call ahead (unlike car shopping) and tell them what I want to look at, they usually oblige and it is a better experience. I have seen so many now, my head is spinning and I can barely remember what i have liked the best. We are still coming back to the OR though. I just wish there was a nearby dealer that had the floor plans we like in stock 😞

You will have to visit multiple dealers and/or RV shows to narrow it down. I ordered out TT without ever being in this model before. I chose the brand based on other floorplans I had been in. I picked the floorplan based on other brands with similar floorplans. No regrets.

I know the feeling. When we bought ours there were three OR dealers closer. Talking to one of them they said they could special order it if we were wiling to put a down payment on it. Selling dealer is two hours away a bit of a drive but they had the floor plan we wanted and gave us good numbers for our trade-in and the selling price of the coach.

Be patient keep looking and asking questions the right one is out there.

Thanks everyone. That website really helped. The biggest problem were having is getting the sales people to actually show us what we want to see. I picked 6 floor plans off a website brought it to the dealer they said they only had 2 there and said unless we were going to buy today that they couldn't get them there. This is ridiculas. How am I supposed to narrow my search down if places aren't willing to show us anything. The 2 they showed us didn't even have electricity and they said they didn't have a way of hooking it up. Ugh just really disappointed.

There are at least 25 models with the OR floorplan. I like PrimeTime Lacrosse Line. I'm not sure I could compromise on fridge/pantry access while turtled, but these are getting more popular recently.

You might try searching for different RVs and floor plans here.

A useful website. Got me playing the 'What if?' game for awhile.

With just a few clicks it got me down to about 6 possibles in no time at all. That 80gal plus freshwater requirement, Island kitchen in a less than 35' 5er & looking for a higher quality heavier trailer sure thins the herd in a hurry.

Looking at some of the responses I find it amazing that so many place so much importance on being useable with slides in. We don't use ours with slides in, even at the odd Walmart overnight. We have a large 4 door fridge & can get at 1 fridge door & 1 freezer door with slides in. We can also get at the toilet as you should be able to with any unit slides in.

Anything past that, who cares? It can wait.

About using it with the slides in: a ot of us like to use the rv while traveling, stopping at city parks, roadside tables, rest areas etc for lunch stops, potty stops, even naps sometimes. Urban boondockers sometimes stop overnight where there is no room to deploy slides. What could be used and what couldn't was key to our choice of motorhome floorplan, and it can matter as much for a towable, depending how you use it.

Also important sometimes is how a slideout works. My two are independently operated, can be used (occupied, carrying weight) open or closed or partially open. Many slide out spaces in towable RVs are designed to carry weight only when fully deployed. They are not alway independent, either. A friend has a fiver with for slides, and she needs her kitchen slide out in order to prepare lunch on the road (the island thing). But the slides operate on a single hydraulic system, deploying sort of simultaneously but not at the same rate. The kitchen is the last slide to get out and locked into position, the first to start moving in.

RV dealers like to show the RVs with slides deployed, you see the big roomy interior. You want to see them in as well, and see how they move.

Oh my goodness, never even thought of any of that. Thanks! Yes we will mostly be camping with full hookups, but also will be using it when moving (military) to a new duty station. So in that circumstance we will most likely not want to put out slides for 1 night.
The residential fridge is an option in the roamer, so I could ask for camper 8cu one. Any other great tips to think about. This forum is SO helpful.

my chieftain was usable with the slides in and I never put out the living room slide if just stopping overnight. also when you stop at a rest area, etc. you don't want to have to put out the slide to open the refrigerator, use the bathroom, etc.

One of the things that was important to us was fridge access with the slides closed to facilitate loading before leaving on a camping trip.

Yes, on the road and when in storage, especially if parking is tight where you can't extend the slides, during high winds when camping, or if you do snow camping and don't want to clean snow off the slides when breaking camp, packing, and times it's just not convenient to extend them.
