I have 7 years and 45K miles towing a PT Cruiser on a Demco Kar Kaddy SS. Got home from a 24 day eight stop trip and found the top 1 inch of the hinge bolt missing, broke off, gone. Donโt know how long the top had been missing but there was enough up and down play to have elongated the bottom hinge hole if it had been very long. Had the remaining bolt come completely out of the bottom it would have made for some interesting driving with the car slewing to the side. The part is 11967-95 5/8โ-13UNC x 5 1/4โ Hex Head Bolt (gr.5) Hinge Bolt and Demco sent the replacement bolt, nut and washer to me free of charge that day. I know of nothing out of the ordinary happening to the kaddy other than normal bouncing down the American roads which would put undue stress on the bolt. Note to self, look at the bolt at every stop.
