reese 45022 receiver for chev 2500

the factory hitch on the "010" dura max is cracking at some of the welds. looking to change to the reese. can an one comment if this will be an up grade over factory hitch.

have 5 year 100000 bumper to to bumper warrantee on truck.

not sure i want to go with another factory if the first didn't hold up. 15000 miles towing and 10000 empty. 25000 total.

looked up reese receivers on line. looks like this would be a bolt on replacement for factory hitch.

not clear on the spare tire, if can leave it on with the reese,

any thing any one cant tell me about this hitch would be appreciated

would be using with equalizer w d h on my 32 ft week end warrior toy hauler.
230 sea ray weekender and once in a great while a sea ray 310 sundancer

Hi Gary,
According to the E-Trailer website, the hitch will fit without disturbing the spare tire. See the following link for specs and a video showing installation on a truck just like yours.
