Guess Who's Coming To Dinner?

Yes indeed we will have a guest tonight and for how long I am not completely sure, perhaps maybe forever.

Introducing Chewy, although I believe his real name is Louie. We are taking him as a "foster to adopt" tonight.

Chewy / Louie

He was found as a stray, skin & bones, flea infested, with skin problems and a badly injured/infected right eye. Poor little guy, his eye had to be removed after it didn't respond well to treatment. We all have our bumps, bruises and imperfections don't we? I think he is adorable and for some reason when I looked at his picture the first time... even before I found out about his eye, I said to myself "Hello Louie". I think that works even better for a one eyed dog. :W

He has been waiting a while for a forever home and his foster mom is rather attached to him but she is willing to let him stay with us.. That is, if he gets along with Bella, the cats, & my husband he will be staying. Don't worry Jimmy is a big softie. 🙂

He is here and we ALL think he will fit in just fine. What a sweet, laid back dog. Bella acts like he has been here for weeks, she accepts him perfectly. His foster mom did a FABULOUS job with him. We are very grateful, I believe in fate, and this could be another fine example of it. He is snoozing on Jimmy's lap as I speak. Welcome home Louie!

If you've never had a one-eyed dog before:
He will adjust and do fine.
Occasionally he might hit his blind side on a chair leg or something.
When handing out treats, it's easier for them if you hold the treat down lower where they can see it, rather than up high like you might be used to for a normal sighted dog.

My experience with one-eyed dogs -- they are just winking at you all the time.
Good luck with him.
Whatever hits the fan will not be evenly distributed.

Aww, what a cutie and what long legs! He is going to want to run and run and run! Get ready to throw that ball forty times in a row. I'll bet Bella will be delighted to have a younger brother. Cats? Maybe not so much, but they'll all adjust.
