HERO CAT!!

This is really amazing as a cat saves a boy from a brutal dog attack. This is a little hairy but ends happy and incredible!

"Dog" is apparently an 8 month old puppy.

The rest of the video shows mom running out to intervene.

Cat is supposed to throw out the first pitch (with help from a family member) at a minor league game. Not sure how that's gonna go. Cats tend to be uncomfortable when they leave their territory.

Why are there 3 different cameras or 3 camera angles used during the video?

I believe Old Biscuit answered the question. It's a home surveillance system.
They took the video from different cameras and combined them to show the whole story.

I think mom was looking for the dog.
I am thinking the security may have been installed due to the neighbors' dog generally terrorizing the neighborhood.

I can't wait for the report on how much the settlement will be.
I am assuming it is the dog owner that has enabled this bad behavior.
It happened in Bakersfield. My SIL lives in B'field. There are some areas where you just plain have surveillance to have evidence of any trouble in your home (or outside your home). There is an area where she taught school that I refused to get out of the car. Sorry, I'm small town and there's a LOT of problems in B'field. Not meaning to offend anyone, but need to make the point that I understand 100% why they have surveillance outside their home.

that must have happened a lot later than the shown footage. once the cat chased the dog away, it didn't reappear in any of the shown tape.

It did; the footage shown was a short excerpt from the video to highlight the cat's bravado.

FoxNews interviewed the family this morning. The dog had been fenced before and would be very aggressive even inside the fence. The child wasn't harassing the dog, he was only on his bike. The dog also bit the mother who tried to get the dog away. The footage was apparently from a security camera.

I thought I read someplace where that dog has a history of not liking kids or bikes.

Great cat! Looked to me like Mom was right there, kiddo heading toward her dragging his trike. That dog needs put down without a doubt. Kid wasn't doing anything wring, couldn't have been perceived as any kind of threat. I'm so glad the kid is OK.
I have such mixed feelings about this video. Glad the kid is okay -- though probably will be afraid of dogs from now on. LOVE that the cat protected him. But I wonder......WHY did that dog attack? I had a dog (doxy) that kept trying to attack a neighbor's kid. Every time that dog saw a child about the same height and coloring, she'd try to attack. I eventually had to put the dog down. I found out later (too late :() that the neighbor kid would kick and hurt the dog when no one was around. Why the other neighbors didn't tell me, I'll never know. I had small children and the doxy never hurt any other children except the one (and his look-alikes)...... so, in this case......had the child done something to the dog? Yes, the dog needed to be put down.....but was it just an evil dog or did something precipitate the dog's actions?
It does seem like the dog went straight to his target, yet it doesn't seem like the kid should have been in his line of sight. I can't imagine a kid that young had been loose to terrorize the dog though. I wonder if it could be redireced aggression? Maybe he charged out of his yard going after something else, spotted movement by the kid and attacked?

I think dogs are like people. Some just suck. A friend had a dog that was well taken care of. One day it turned mean for no reason on his 2yr old son. Dog was put down that day.
