i was renting out my 5th wheel and when i took back possession of it, the renter had already pulled the slides in and had it ready to tow so i didn't get to check to make sure everything was ok. i do not have a way to connect it to 30 or 50 amp, but i used a reducer to 110 yesterday and noticed that the thermostat didn't come on...is that normal? i know i need more amperage for the a/c system to actually work but i assumed the thermostat would at least come on!!!!
any help would be appreciated thank u

On our 38 footer, there is a fuse panel on the right side of the walk-in closet in the bedroom. If I can be of more help just ask or PM me.

Bobsallyh......the landing jacks did work....I may need to double check those again! I went to an RV store yesterday and picked the brains of the people there and they said that I probably have another fuse box somewhere besides the one in the storage area but I havenโ€™t ever seen another area. I am going to check for one today (possibly n the closet???)

Everything works except the bedroom slide and the thermostat (so I assume a/c will work once thermostat can be turned on). I HOPE

One thing I did notice yesterday while using a test light checking the relays (12v 40 amp) some of the 5 pin things didnโ€™t light up and I wasnโ€™t sure if that was normal or not ?????????????????????

Once I check out more things and have more info I will replay back to you with questions if Iโ€™m still stumped if you donโ€™t mind!!!!
Thanks so much

Having an '04 Alfa fiver, I believe you will find the thermostat is 12 volt. Did the landing jacks work when you hooked up or unhooked?

Hope you have the $500. deposit "cash in hand" - or converted to same!

WHY would a renter "skip out", "nowhere to be found, and will not return our calls" ??...:R

*Very* fishy!

Renting a/your personal RV is a serious c**p shoot - as evidenced by your post.

2oldman i will have check the batteries! not sure which one it is

frankoToo....ill check the fuses! we checked most of them and did have to replace a relay but they are costly (in our town) and didn't want to purchase many until we knew for sure!

โ€œhard to fix it when we have no clue what all he messed upโ€

An RV landlord should always do a careful walk through with the departing tenant. If the tenant isnโ€™t available, do a video. How much was the security deposit?

If the display does not even come on, check for a blown fuse.

Is it a 12v thermo? Or 3v AA battery? Perhaps the batteries are dead.

Put it on heat or fan.....then try it. If you don't have enough amperage to run the AC, you can easily ruin it. Don't ask me how I know this.
