I tried to deploy my awning but it stopped short about 1 full rotation, and then I couldn't get it to go back in (had to use a hammer to gently tap the switch to get it to go back in). I also had to use my hands to manually get it to roll inwards for the first half (it finally started to roll in the last 2 to 3 feet).
Is the spring the issue? The trailer is 17 years old and I am assuming it's the original awning.
Yes, replace the RH torsion(has the release lock). BUT, since the awning is 17 years old, I would replace BOTH front and rear torsion springs. The odds are the rear has a lot of rust and is ready to fail. Doug
