AC or generator???

I have a Duo-Therm 600 series air conditioner that runs fine on shore power but when I try to run in off the gen it kills the generator. Should I look at the AC? Like the start capacitor. Or look at the Generator?

Thanks for any help.

As I stated it worked fine last year.

that small gen will not take inrush when starting it might draw 4-5 x running amps to start

It was working before and with nothing on it will kill the gen. The microwave works fine and the coffee maker.

Hi,

Turn off all other loads--i.e. water heater, fridge and converter. See if that helps. Then add them, one at a time until you find what the genny can support.

How much power does the A/C draw in watts?

Did it work with that generator before?

A 2800 watt generator is not very big

I just checked the no load voltage with gen running and it was 114v - 118v.
