Bathroom vent fan

Hello all,

I have a temp control ceiling vent fan. The open portion of the controls works without issue. But the fan doesn't run. I took it apart and while apart it runs, but when I put it together it doesn't run. I took it apart a second time and again while apart it runs. I assembled it while running and ran without issue, but a couple hours later I turned it off but it would not run again. Any ideas what is going on?

my fan did that and when I called the company they told me to clean the plunger switch. never entered my mind to do that. after that it worked like new.

Usually when they open but not run it is the lid switch. There should be a plunger type switch which only allows the fan to run when the lid is open. It is probably dirty or corroded.
