Best battery

I need a new battery for the fiver, I only camp with full hookups. I still would like the best longest lasting battery possible. My last Wally world battery only lasted 15 months. Suggestions please. Thanks, Will

My thought too and I have a pair of them. But a pair cost me $270. They are big and quite heavy and require more wiring and special battery boxes. Overkill for a FHU camper.

You can buy a 12V flooded cell for around $100 and AGM's for maybe $150. I'm not up to date on AGM pricing tho.

You probably killed it. You can do that to any battery.

Do you maybe know how the battery was killed?

Otherwise the WM battery is fine.

On a Flooded wet cell. if you let 'em run dry. By By Battery. So check 'em monthly

AGM's Many brag about long life.. Tried 'em.. Not all that impressed they were the youngest batteries in the RV and the first to go. (THey were on a independent loop and properly charged)

THe other advantage of the GC-2 is that it is a very very very popular battery.. Golf courses from here to there and back again buy 'em by the small truck load.. The lines do not shut down for re-tooling nearly as often as the 12 volt lines (Re-toolign adds to the cost)

THus.. best Bang for the Buck.

I'm not sure anything is missing lol, I have full hookups at home. The keystone copper canyon 5er is plugged up from time to time as all 6-8 of my previous TT and 5ers have been. I am not sure of type of converter lol. I only asked for best battery . I am 99% my system is functioning properly but I guess asking a simple question has become increasingly difficult on this forum. Some folks can't or won't simply answer the question asked. Thanks anyway.

after a semi "nicked" it. Still have the radios

The Samsclub batteries are supposed to Exide which is said to be better than average. For what's that's worth. I think that's true east of the Mississippi. I have no idea where meadows is, Antarctica maybe?

You only need a battery in the 5er when on the road.* Rule about the emergency breakaway. Get any cheap 12v battery. The Econo Power ones at Interstate dealers are refurbished and half -price.

* Except if you have an inverter/charger.

Your battery lasting time is likely from how you "maintain" it when not camping with FHU. Suggest read up on how to maintain a battery. EG read the Trojan guide on their website.

When I checked the reviews of the battery I have many said they only lasted 12-14 months. I believe the battrry is the problem but will check the charging system.

I'd look into why your battery died so quick. Even the cheapest **** lead battery should last longer than that if you're strictly a full hookups kind of camper.
