Just purchased a new to us 07 Discovery. While cleaning out the coach I decided to "test" the washer/dryer.....
All went well but during the drying stage (Vented Model) I noticed next to nothing comming out of outside vent.
Decided to pull the whole shootin match and inspect\clean.
WOW! Was that dryer vent PACKED with lint!
Pulled the hose off & cleaned. Also cleaned the exhaust vent on the side of the motorhome. What really surprised me was all the lint BLOCKING the rubber boot between the drum and the backside of the washer/dryer.
Cleaning was rather easy, was able to undo a clamp holfing the boot to the drum, remove from back of washer & clean.
Appears that the fitting for the vent hose was "slightly" smaller than the standard 4" dryer hose so I had to be careful not to rip the hose while clamping.
After carefully re-instaling the unit runs like a new washer/dryer!
I believe dryer sheets cause the buildup of lint in these washers. Also we replaced the hoses on the backside.
Looks like pulling the washer/dryer & inspecting/cleaingin will happen every other season here!
Thanks all & have your washer/dryer inspected!!
