Today the 400 amp Schottky rectifier heatsink has 60 3/16" ventilation holes drilled in it, the 10-turn pots are attached to the Mega pots, EuroTerminal Strips have been attached to the rear lid, and fans have been selected to cool the stacked heatsinks. One units sits above the other as pictured although the clearance is greater. The Chickhead Switch has been wired. Not seen is the 100uf 400vdc capacitor. The GREEN BID LED is 12 volt output from the Beta lower unit, the RED LED is for the upper ALPHA unit. The two smaller GREEN LEDS one on each end announce the presence of 120vac available to be switched on at the charger. The front panel has a 4-1/2 digit LED voltmeter, a 3-1/2 digit voltmeter for the Beta output, and a 3-1/a digit LED ammeter. There is also a 50-amp analog ammeter on the front panel.
Both the AC line cord and the twin 8-gauge charger DC output cords pass through liquid tite strain relief gland nuts. The 6-hour INTERMATIC TIMER is on the rear cover which controls the Alpha Megawatt. The fan holes on the Megawatt have been de-webbed. They're wide open. The fans are a pair of brushless, dual ball bearing .50 amp 12 volt muffins. The chicken head switch utilizes one stage for each Mega. L1. The insane grade transient voltage suppressor is also hidden not seen.
The one heatsink shot is for one pair of bi-polar transistors. The aluminum has been heliarced. There are four separate heatsinks. Heat will NOT be a problem with those fans passing hurricane force. The amount of air movement INSIDE the Megawatt cases is awesome.
