dc to 120 volt inverter wiring

I have two 6 volt batteries wired in series, I want to wire an inverter right at the batteries. What would be the best way. With 12 volt batteries its easy positive to positive and negative to negative. Any help is appreciated

The pair is just a big 12v battery. (ignore the terminals that connect the two batteries)
Wire same as any 12v.... ++ & --
