Dicor on top of eternabond microsealant residue?

Im in the process of resealing slides on my 5th wheel and have peeled all the old eternabond tape off the slide seams that was peeling. I cleaned off all the old dried eternabond microsealant residue, but was unable to get all the microsealant that was still wet off.

I then proceeded to lay a bead of dicor self leveling lap sealant on the joint of the roof/slide cap. Where the plastic of the slide cap meets the rubber of the roof there is sealant that is under the dicor. It seems that it is somewhat curing (maybe a little slower), but I wanted to ask here to be sure. If anyone else has experience with this please chime in

Other than the grey residue from the eternabond, the area was clean and free of debris. I also am aware that eternabond is the more hassle free/permanent option, but I have weighed my options and chose the dicor. I just need to be sure this dicor will cure in the presence of microsealant.

Thank you

So the consensus is lap sealant will indeed seal properly in the presence of gray micro sealant from Eternabond tape?

I would have liked to see pics of "peeling" eternabond tape.

You did it right with Lap sealant.
Lap sealant will never cure into a hard substance, it will always be gummy. It is also easy to scrape back off with a putty knife or similar tool. That is what it is meant to do. Be a short-term sealant that is easy to redo every few years. Never use silicone, while it seals great and last a long time it is very difficult to impossible to scrape back off, so re-doing "caulking" is difficult. Silicone is a mess and a disaster.

The Eternabond tape is good stuff, but not great at small crevices where it needs to get into small corners or cracks. The tape can be used in conjunction with Lap sealant also.

Sounds like the self-leveling was the right pick too.

If there is an option to replace the rubber seals and that is where the leak is then replace the rubber seals for sure...

The top of slides have eternabond from the factory. Where the roof meets the end cap.

Resealing slides usually involves new rubber seals, not eternabond. What am I missing here?

I just removed some eternabond and replaced it with a new piece. I was able to get the gray sticky stuff off with much elbow grease and several pads of 3m in various grits. I used mostly red. I scrubbed with denatured alcohol. Not sure if that was the best solvent but it was what I had. I think dicor is pretty good but they do recommend cleaning off old sealant.
