Dometic 15K A/C Blowing Warm/Hot Electric Smell?

Hey guy's,
My Dometic 15K A/C is blowing warm air and has a distinct smell. I'm not sure if it's hot electric or not. Breakers are off! It is only four months old and I'm have a heck of time finding a mobile RV tech near St Louis. As most, I've had a rig for decades and been in/out of these doing self repair. I have no inside access to the unit in order to check it. With that, where should I start? I hope to find a tech for warranty, however, it's time to get the ball rolling on figuring this out.
Also, these new digital thermostats that have an "auto" mode vary the fan speed from high to low accordingly. I'm not convinced I like that feature, as the speed fluctuates regularly. I always ran my units on direct high in the heat/humidity. Thought's??

Thanks,
David

The electric breaker, I smelled electric so I turned off power to it. Makes perfect sense!

Now that makes no sense, please explain what breakers you are talking about.

Are you saying this thing runs with the breakers off? I'm confused. Access is by removing the cover on the roof. If this smell a new condition?? Has it run correctly in the past?

My first guess would be the start up capacitor. A fairly easy and inexpensive fix. If you are reasonably mechanically inclined and feel comfortable getting on the roof you can change it in probably 20 minutes and, that includes the climbing time.

If you decide to do this make sure you short the electrical terminals on the capacitor together before touching the capacitor as they can bite.
