In all the years since they came out with the recall kit, I never looked at the trip of the galvanized Thermal disc to see what heat. The Norcold Thermal trips at about 700 degrees, but that is sensing the actual flue. The Dometic senses the outer insulated metal housing. Since the common heat of a flue is around 350 degrees, then the Thermal must kick out above 400 or more. FYI, I have had to replace Thermal disc's more often from malfunction that actual trip. Since it trips in less than 30 minutes, you have a defective Disc. Just replace it. Doug
