Going to clean my EPDM roof. I see so many products recommended to clean and condition the EPDM roof. I am curious what the pros use? Chime in this forum and let me know...

What do you use to clean?
What do you use to condition?

Plane old soap and water is best for cleaning and EPDM does not require any conditioning. My product of choice is "simple green". What DOES need attention is caulking on your rubber roof (same as with metal, fiberglass and vinyl roofs). Inspect it and do repairs before cleaning. EPDM and other roofing materials almost NEVER leaks but caulking does.

Easy the REAL PROS use ABSOLUTELY NOTHING ... it's not needed and probably shortens the life if you clean it.

I use a mixture of dish washing liquid, bleach, water in a yard sprayer. Spray it on, leave it for a few minutes then spray it off. Go over stubborn spots again, sometimes with a soft bristled brush. The manufacturer of the motor home said no conditioner needed. It is a good idea to spray the plastic vents and covers with a uv protectant such as Aerospace 303.
