Hey Westend, lower watt A/C

You recently asked me which A/C I use. Well come to find out it has been discontinued and the replacement is rated for 410 watts instead of 446 watt. It would run off of just two panels.

Thanks, Jim. That little window shaker looks just the ticket of what I need.

As it is, the extra 2" of foam board I installed in the ceiling cavities does a great job. If I let natural or fan-aided night time circulation fill the trailer and close windows in the morning, the interior stays cool until well into the afternoon. This is when parked in full sun with daytime temps into the 90's.

Still, an additional panel and two more batteries will get me off-grid AC (for a period) and that would be a welcome addition when on the road.

Gulf,

Probably a 1000 watt psw. But if you wanted to be sure a 1500 watt PSW.

I understand it's 410 watts when running, but what size inverter would it take to start it? Starting watts could be double or triple the run watts when starting up.
