Since you have a Class C I suspect your Generator has an outlet in the electrical cord storage area. The cord needs to be plugged into the outlet to allow the generator to supply 120v AC and power the converter/charger to supply 12v DC and charge the batteries. That would mean you have no transfer switch.

If no outlet box there, then the transfer switch could be the problem.

For the first problem, did you remember to use the battery-disconnect switch to connect batteries to the 12v DC circuit?

nothing on shore power

means you have a transfer switch problem
this is a box with one or two relays (one for 30amp rv, two for 50amp RV)
that automatically switches between shore power and generator

depending on how your RV outlets are configured aka wire in the breaker panel
they might be all on one line from the generator and not getting any power because of the bad transfer switch
find the transfer switch box and rap on it with your palm, slap it good if the contacts in the relay are stuck they might unstick
otherwise
you need to see an RV electrician
I can explain it to you.
But I Can Not understand it for you !
