Norcold frig connection for 12v lead for fan

Hello,

I have a Norcold N811F refrigerator and I'm looking for the best place to connect the 12 volt connection for a fan attached to the cooling fins inside the frig. It attaches using alligator clips to the fins for the ground.

I prefer not to drill through the frig if at all possible.

Thanks!

On my previous Norcold, I was able to use the light. On our new one I don't remember why but I know I couldn't do it. Maybe there was no power available easily.
I went down the drain tube, like others have said. Don't worry, they don't drain that much. Pinch the wire where it gets stopped and see how far you are making it. It seems to me I had to do that, and when I went outside I was nearly at the end of the tube

Don't give up, adding the inside fans makes our Norcold work as good as our home fridge. I had tried the little battery operated fans inside, and it is not even close to the same results.

Added, by pinch the wire, I meant hold onto it where it stops, so you can see how far you are getting it down.

I ran a wire down the drain tube it takes a little to get it to go. Thinner wire kind of binds up half way down as you see. I would suggest getting a little thicker wire first and connect the thinner wire to it to pull it through.
If you don't have one get a piggyback terminal connector so when you plug into the 12v+ on the back of the fridge it has a split connection to attach to.

I posted this on another forum but has some images of the connector. Post #10

OP here,

Connecting to the inside light on my Norcold is not an easy task as it is in the top of the frig and very difficult to access.

I tried running the wire down the drain tube but it keeps getting stuck halfway down the tube. Tried for about an hour yesterday. I'm also concerned that having the wire in the tube will block the drain. The wire is very small BUT so is the tube.

Any other suggestions I could try?

what turns the light on when the door opens. That's where your power is likely located.

OP Here

It does have a light but it is on the top panel and from what I see not nearly as accessible as the Dometic light.

I ran a small wire through the condensation tube to the back of the fridge. Connect to the wire feeding the fridge with a small(1 amp) or so in the wire.

Don't think on a Norcold you can hook to light so most common way is to run wire thru drain tube and hook to 12v at power block behind refrig.
