Victron/lifeblue system 99% functional except

Hey everyone, been a while! I have my solar system installed, it is all Victron (5000w 12v quattro inverter)equipment with LiFeBlue(3x 200ah lithium)batteries. That means I am using the lynx bus bar and shunt to connect everything to the batteries safely. Most of the system works, I can put power in the batteries and use that power on 110v, can’t test out the 12 V yet but that shouldn’t be a problem. All of the information on the system is viewed through the color control screen made by Victron, and everything appears to be working properly .

However, I have gone through two lynx shunts. this is a fuse block that goes between the two busbars, it holds an 800 amp CNN fuse. The fuse has not blown, but both times I installed a new shunt it worked for a split second and then sparked, never to show a sign of life again . The shunt limits current to the batteries, and also prevents overcharge and over discharge. Its a ‘smart’ bus bar, and the spark appeared to happen on the small computer board next to the fuse in the shunt.

Even with the shunt not working, I can still use the system normally but i wont until its 100%. I can put up pictures when I get home in about an hour or two, but any ideas or thoughts will be helpful. Thank you all!

we checked polarity on the whole system, its okay. i can use all three batteries, putting power in and using power works no problem.
yeah, im currently looking for a company is CT that will come look at it in person, but its difficult since not many are familiar with victron. i could send pictures of the installed system, its hard to tell whats what though.

price! plus everything in the RV is 12v, AM Solar and I discussed it and we ended up deciding on 12v. i was going to go with 24v, but due to price mostly i said no.
edit:sorry, i forgot the main reason was the space on my roof is very lacking, i wouldnt have been able to fit more than 2-3 panels.

I read the Victron website and the Lynx shunt is rated 1000 amps and the maximum fuse is 800 amps. Not sure you need the maximum fuse as 350 amps should be fine.

Question is where is that power going? What did you just turn on when the shunt fails?

Usually a shunt is to measure power in/out of the battery so the charging system does not over charge/discharge the battery. I assume the actual shunt is burned through right?

I have a 50Amp shunt (analog meter) and I know it will open like a fuse if there is a short.

Or is this just a communication issue as said by 2oldman?

i used everything AM Solar sent me, including the 800 amp fuse.

so, the bus bar lit up once the batteries were connected and everything, it looked right. i turned the power on via one of the side by side power switches going from the inverter to the busbar. when i turned it(blue sea power switch) on, all the lights on the busbar/shunt turned off, there was a small blue spark on the pc board next to the CNN fuse in the shunt. the shunt showed up in device list for a second then gone forever. everything else works!

the fuse is fine and not blown.

Maybe your pics vs AMs will be revealing.

I thought 640 was the official max width.

Just quote my post to see the code. You just grab/paste the Url and hand-type the height parameter yourself. The original size of the picture matters not.

All I ever do is add the height parameter and it always works.

Sorry I can't help with your shunt problem. I have a Victron shunt, 500a fused, Bluetooth to my phone. The only problem I ever have is that it just quits working with the app, so I can't get a reading of my battery stats.

i looked and looked, i can never find the option for it. i remember i got an email from rv.net saying there was a new resizing tool, but this is the first time ive been on in 6 months+. i will figure it out eventually, thank you so much though!

You only need to specify width or height, not both.

so any ideas? both victron and AM solar who helped design my system are stumped.

yeah it wont let me shrink the picture. it appears to be smaller when viewed on mobile, but not on pc.
edit: somehow reduced image from 4000x2200 pixels to 500x300, yet it did not shrink.
