I keep hearing this but frankly.. Think about it. Stove sips propane. Water heater guzzles it. (Same for Furnace) Water heater will try 3 times before it locks out.. You'd need like 100 feet of line full of air or more before the first two attempts would not purge.

But that said.. Won't hurt to light the stove as that confirms the propane system is indeed working.

To the O/P. You need to observe while someone else turns it on.

Does it light, go out re-light (three times no relight the 3rd time)

Does the thing make sparks (Snap SNap) but no ignition

Does it just sit there like it was turned off.

Once we know that we can get more specific.

There was a bad run of controller boards. Get a dealer to check your board and install a replacement. (30 min job all told) A good shop will do all the warranty paperwork for you. (Thanks Xtreme RV Idaho)

Ours is an Atwood, but exactly the same problem - wouldn't light on gas, worked fine on electric. It was the circuit board on ours.

Did you try to reset the 12v Tstat?

Does the red light by the switch come on and just stay on, or does it not come on at all?

Does your digital voltmeter say the switch is getting 12v at all? If yes, is it getting to the circuit board? (Jumper the wires by-passing the switch to see if it is the switch failing to make the connection--if so get anew switch)

Batteries enabled?
Usually need 12VDC power for w/h operation. For control board and DSI.
Other propane appliances working?
Mike. Comments are anecdotal or personal opinions, and worth what you paid for them.
