WINEGARD ROADTRIP T4

I'm looking for someone that uses this system with DirecTV. I just got mine installed and I'm using DirecTV receiver model H 24-200. Before with the old Track Vision when setting still after I found my Sat. I would cut the power off to the Sat. The T 4 doesn't say and when I found Sat. I cut the power and lost signal I assume. Any one using this system have any words of advice pls. feel free to comment.

Thanks Doug I had to take it to another place to get signal and I was used to cutting off and I lost the signal. I came back home and I though that that might be my problem. I was hoping to get someone that had a unit. There are different settings from the Track Vision. I didn't see that part you posted.

The T4 is left ON. After about 6 minutes it will go into hibernation. IF you turn it off and the parabola drifts a little you lose the signal. In hibernation, if it drifts it will auto come back on and lock in the signal before you lose the Picture. Doug

PS from the manual.

After the T4 has verified the correct satellite, it will
continue to track the signal. The unit will go into “Sleep
Mode” if the vehicle is stationary for 6 minutes. This
involves a quick verification process where signal may be
lost, then return to the signal and be silent. If the vehicle
begins moving greater than 10 MPH, the in-motion T4 will
resume tracking mode.
