2007 Arctic Fox 990 Slide Out Problem

My slide out would not retract this week (luckily in my driveway instead of camping) and upon investigation, I found the slide out motor had broken off the gear case and was laying loose on the floor. It is Power Gear P/N 524864 which includes the motor and gear box. Looks like it would just be a bolt on replacement job, but the prices I have found are around $620 Anyone know a better source for POWER GEAR P/N 524864 or if there has been a newer unit to replace it. Thanks for any help.

(The slide moves easily with the emergency retractor handle, so I don't think I have any obstructions, etc. binding the mechanism.)

Was able to obtain the required slide out motor from PDX RV in Oregon. Great service and fast shipping from them. The price for the motor was $641 shipped. That seems a bit steep but that is the going rate. Installation was simple and straight forward and anyone with basic mechanical skills will have no trouble with an installation. Just amounted to removing and replacing four bolts holding the old motor in place, removing and reinstalling a pin connection to the rotating shaft that drives the slide out mechanism and attaching one red and one black wire.

Our 2006 did this while out camping with the slide out. Broken gear jamming the slide.

To AF credit someone answered the phone on a Sunday. A few minutes lated Fred Nash called us and told us he was looking for a shop mechanic to call us. A few minutes later someone called us and walked us through how to get back on the road by removing the slide motor and re-installing with slide in. They also fedex a newer version of the motor with steel gear to our house which has served us since. This was while the camper was pretty new, so I'm not sure that you will get a similar experience, but have you contacted AF?
