Not a bad looking SUV with a diesel to boot. Estimated 28 hwy mpg. Probably a great SUV for someone who drives a lot of hwy miles and tows.

The 3.0 was developed at the Turin R&D Center in Italy. This was one of the parts of Opel that GM kept when they sold off most of their European operations. The 10 speed is the same Ford-designed, GM-manufactured unit they started putting in the Camaro in 2017 and the Silverado in 2019. The variant used behind the 3.0L has a different torque converter from other installations, and includes a "centrifugal pendulum absorber" to dampen any vibration that you might otherwise feel at lower RPMs.

I think it's pretty cool from a power and efficiency standpoint. I have my reservations about the rear-mounted timing chain, and belt-driven oil pump. Both sound like Audi-levels of maintenance nightmares when they get old.

You either have a REAL special vehicle, or your computer is way off and you would be better off hand calculating your mileage. Fuelly says a 2015 Tahoe will average 15.9 MPG, tracked over 1,000,000 miles.

I’m a fan of the 3.0 diesels. The main reason I didn’t even consider a Burb when I upgraded my Yukon XL last year was I didn’t want to be stuck with the 5.3. If the 3.0 diesel was available last year, I very well may have stayed with GM.

I have one of the last full size blazers with the 6.5 turbo diesels (1994) with around 300,000mi on it and when broke in it got 30mpg and today gets pretty near 27-28mpg. 27 with that little engine is not very impressive.

This looks like it will be a great SUV for GM. The biggest downside is the cost.

We will be looking for a new SUV in the next year or two and the GM will be on the list. I'm not sure that the diesel option will be worth it, but I'll definitely consider it. It's pretty hard to beat the tried and true GM V8's! :C
