We bought a one owner used 2015 28DSBH last December and after giving it a quick cleaning we put it in indoor storage for the winter. Today with much excitement, we pulled the camper back to the house to begin the de-winterizing process.
When walking around I found the main door hold open bracket that is installed on the door itself, upside down. This caught my curiosity and after further investigation, not only was it installed improperly, the bracket was only held on by silicone and it was apparent the rivets pulled through the door. Quickly looking at my pop rivet assortment in my toolbox, I quickly realized that it might require more than just new pop rivets.
The second thing I found was the door handle loose by the outside bathroom door. I grabbed my screwdriver, made a few turns and realized it wasn't getting tight. So, I pulled the handle off and saw that there had been a second attempt to fasten the handle to the trailer thus now having 8 holes in the side of my trailer. I am sick.
Have any of you ran into this before? Do I make a doubler for the front door bracket and drill four new holes in the door? Are there expandable rivets that I could use?
What about the back door? Can I use longer screws? Will this need a doubler?
