Add Awning To Slide?

Apologies for the crossthread if you're also on the Jayco Owners forum. I have a 2015 Jay Flight 33RLDS & I'd like to add an awning to the door side slide. Has anyone ever done this? Is it even possible? Thanks.

That's what I currently do. Have considered a slide topper but how do you keep a puddle of water from forming in rainstorms?

Usually, they build the main box the same and just bolt on the extras.

Obviously, check to makes sure there is a stud you can attach too but it's unlikely they built it out differently.

Thought that at first, but it was the manufacturer rep.. she tossed in the 2nd awning when dealing with her but we had to decide before the build... so, no cost to us

Top of the wall has to have a 2x running the entire length just like your house wall otherwise there's nothing to attach the vertical studs to.

I don't think so. Take a look online and you should be able to see many options. A friend of mind just did this and said it was pretty easy. I was looking into one just before I sold my trailer back in 2009.

Don’t see why not. A lot would depend on the skills of the installer.
My question would be what is the effect on the slide when the wind buffets the awning?
Is there room to add the awning over the slide so it is attached to the trailer?
