Advice on new tires?

We have a 2013 Keystone Passport 2910BH that we bought in summer 2012. We bought it new and so have owned it just about 4 years. We have a big trip coming up and are looking to replace the stock tires it came with, TowMax STR, 205/75R14, presumable load range C. I know some will say that we could get some more time out of them, and they have been good to us, but admittedly due to a lot of factors, we haven't taken care of them as we should have, and although they only have less than 10K miles on them, we'd feel more comfortable replacing right now since our trip will be bringing us to some remote places with 5 little ones. If it matters, we tow with a 2015 Chevy Express 3500 15-passenger van.

Our options right now are Carlisles, Goodyear Marathons, or Maxxiss M8008.

I'd love to hear any advice, as we've never owned a trailer long enough to have to put new tires on it, so other than names and some general reviews I've seen here and there, I'm not sure which ones to get right now. Our last trailer had Marathons which we were happy with, but that was a 2009 model and I don't know if Marathons have changed any. I also know a lot of people like Maxxis. Recently came across some positive comments about Carlisles too.

Move to a load range D for reserve capacity.

I just went through this. I chose Hercules Power STR trailer tires based on the lack of really any negative reports I could find on the net. All ST tires are made in china so we have to pick the best china or go LT. The tire shop guy said he does not recall a single failure with hercules and that's what they put on their own trailers. The show was right next to a camping world and does a lot of trailer tires. I got these 225s which are E load rated btw mounted and balanced out the door for $428.

Maxxis 8008 ST tires have given us good service and are one of the few trailer tires that have lots of positive reviews. I have heard good things about the redesigned Carlisle ST tires although Carlisle ST tires from a few years ago were horrendously disliked by the towable RV masses. Whether a ST tire looks good or doesn't have a lot of miles is irrelevant, 4-5 years is where we always think about changing out our TT's rubber. It's worked for us and we have never had a blowout or even a flat while underway, better to be safe than sorry.

That was my stock tire size. I replaced them after 3 seasons due to uneven wear due to misaligned axles. I went with slightly larger 215/75R14 Maxxis M8008. I had a tread separate at the end of their third season last fall. I replaced all 4 with the new Carlisle HD a couple weeks ago, again 215/75R14. Time will tell.

My advice would be.
If you had trouble free mileage from the Marathons before then use them again, they are good tires. I used Marathons for years with no complaints.

Unfortunately, I'm not finding anything in that tire size with a load range D. I've been leaning toward the Maxxis over the Marathons though...

maxxis is top of the line,and go one load range higher, keep them aired up they,ll give you great service, you can extent a tires life by keeping them covered when not in use.
