Air Conditioner wont stay running

My dometic air conditioner in my keystone Laredo wont stay running. It was working fine a couple of days ago, but now, problems. It starts up (though it sounds like it has a hard time doing so), then runs for a few minutes, and the breaker for the air conditioner pops in the panel. It' not the main breaker, just the one for the a/c. The a/c is the only thing on that circuit, but just to be sure, everything else is off. The trailer is plugged into a dedicated 20 amp circuit at my house. Does anyone have an idea of whats wrong?

It's hard to know, but is the compressor coming on and the fan? Low voltage might cause it, but sounds like the start capacitor is weak. I've had several A/Cs with that issue and a new cap fixed it. Course the motor was dragging and probably burned the cap or thru the breaker.
How long is the run from the 20A receptacle to the trailer? Low voltage (95V) does mean more heat.
Is it a 15A breaker in the trailer?

That was it. I can't believe I didn't think of that

I would check the voltage in the trailer, it sounds like a low voltage issue.

20 amps is the rating for the a/c. It has a 20 amp breaker just for the a/c. There's other things running on the circuit, and if the a/c was truly using 20 amps, the circuit breaker in the house would trip. The main 30 amp breaker is not blowing. Could the a/c breaker be faulty, and trip prematurely?

20amp may not be enough power to run your ac depending on how long your cord is.
Also pull the shroud off the ac and check it out because you may have mud daubers in the fan preventing it from spinning.
Also make sure your hot water heater is on propane and Not electric if you have 30amp service because it may not be enough power for both.

Perhaps it's hotter outside taking more to run it than a house circuit can provide?
One can only guess and throw money at it unless you get a meter and find out what's happening .
Good Luck, Mike
