Buying tow hitch

Two weeks ago I bought a new 2017 Toyota Highlander. Today I called the dealer about installing a tow hitch. They quoted a price of $1075 plus tax with wiring. I like the way the hitch looks when Toyota installed but seems overly high priced. Any thoughts and suggestions will be appreciated.

More important than esthetics is functionality and weight capacity ratings for a hitch.

$1000+ for a hitch and basic wiring seems a lot, but I admit I haven't priced something like that for awhile. I'd shop around. U-Haul installs hitches, most all RV dealers and you may even have a hitch specialty outfit in your area....
