Camping With Below Freezing Temps

So, my family and I were planning on doing a long weekend trip this weekend. Where we planned on camping, the temps are as follows: 45H/30L, 48H/30L, and 51H/29L. The water is on the campground which I planned on using. So my concern is with my water lines freezing at night. Obviously the day time temps are good, but I was concerned with it being below freezing for 3 nights. Just looking for your thoughts and recommendations about this. Thanks!

YEP.......

Water hose would be only concern at night.

I would have water in fresh water tank just in case CG water supply has issues.

We got caught in snow/ice storm........below 0*F temps. CG water source froze (due to power outage) and we were the only ones with water cause we travel with water.
Is it time for your medication or mine?

I'd go camping in those temperatures if the trip was going to be fun.

The only precaution I'd take is to disconnect my fresh water hose nightly and empty it (run off the tanks overnight).

We are camping in a 30 foot TT with an enclosed underbelly and the campground has full hook ups....

Everything else should be OK.

If you won't have hook ups then you have to try and conserve your batteries. The heater will drain a battery quickly so bundle up to sleep and turn off the heater. Use it in the morning to warm up and then shut it off. Make sure you crack a window and open a vent when cooking inside.

Camping - tent or camping - trailer/motorhome?

Bringing our new-to-us motorhome back to Denver, we tried one night when temps dropped to low 20's. In between sleeping bags and running the furnace, we were fine. It was *warm* in the motorhome.

Keeping your tanks warm is another concern. Ours came with black and grey tank heaters and the fresh water stayed warm from the cabin.

If you're tent camping - then, well...
brrrrrrrrrrrr. 🙂

We have no problems camping in the high 20s and do so often, but I don't want to say it's OK as I don't know what rig you have. We just got back from a two week trip where temps were below freezing (32) every night and dipped to the teens a few times, but daytime temps always were above 40 degrees or so. If you have an enclosed underbelly I would think 29 degrees for a few hours wouldn't cause hard freezing of your plumbing, but once again I know what our rig is capable of and it does not have an enclosed belly.
