DC Power to Fridge ... But not lights.

Getting ready to take the first trip of the season. I purchased and installed a brand new rv/marine battery. None of the 12V lights on the trailer work. However, the refridgerator lights up when turned on and will switch between gas and DC. Checked the breaker box and all the blade fuses are intact. Any ideas about what might be wrong?

Update: Took the trailer on the road to our destination. Hooked up to 120V shore power with no problem. The fridge cooled with gas on the trip ... no problem. Everything working as usual. Will have the DC problem checked out by dealer techs when we return. Thanks for all the responses and ideas.

Instead of getting many ideas about what your problem can be and shot gunning through them, a meter or test light would probably find the issue quickly. Just looking at fuses can be misleading. A blown fuse may look good but not pass any power.

An inexpensive meter is cheaper than a new hammer, just saying.

No power to the holding tanks and battery meter. I looked for an in-line fuse coming off the (+) battery terminal, but none found.

Blown fuse. Do you have a meter?

Do you have a battery disconnect switch near the door? Mine is a latching relay and disconnects all inside power except for the refer. The purpose is to disconnect the lights etc that weren't turned off.

Otherwise your lights are on a separate circuit that has a blown fuse/CB or bad connection.

No terminal reversal. My set-up is "idiot proof" because the (+) terminal is too short to reach the ground(-).

The fact that refrigerator is still on probably rules this out. But is there any chance you reversed the polarity on the battery terminals when you changed the battery? Even for a second will cause the reverse polarity fuses to blow on your converter.

>>Rectifier circuit breaker?<<

Not sure what this is or where it is found. This is a 12 year-old Coachmen QB.

When you say " none of the 12v lights on the trailer" do you mean inside, outside, or both?

Exterior lights of course have nothing to do with interior power supply, which is why I ask.
