Hi,

Too bad it does not run the heat strip and the furnace at the same time.

I added a stand alone thermostat for the propane furnace, so I can run both, or alternatively set the propane furnace to come on should the heat strip not be able to handle the load.
Regards, Don

"Well, to make a long story short, it was way smarter than I was. Since I was calling for such a large temperature increase, the circuit board fell back to it’s default setting and called the propane furnace on line to bring the temp up more rapidly than the air unit’s electric heat strip could."

You will find the same-thing on many/most home heat-pumps that have electric
"emergency" heat strips. They turn on the heat strips when the heat-pump would
have a problem with too be a temp increase when it is first turned on or later turned up.
