Hi,

Too bad it does not run the heat strip and the furnace at the same time.

I added a stand alone thermostat for the propane furnace, so I can run both, or alternatively set the propane furnace to come on should the heat strip not be able to handle the load.
Regards, Don

"Well, to make a long story short, it was way smarter than I was. Since I was calling for such a large temperature increase, the circuit board fell back to itโ€™s default setting and called the propane furnace on line to bring the temp up more rapidly than the air unitโ€™s electric heat strip could."

You will find the same-thing on many/most home heat-pumps that have electric
"emergency" heat strips. They turn on the heat strips when the heat-pump would
have a problem with too be a temp increase when it is first turned on or later turned up.
