First RV purchase and need Bathroom Advice

Hi all,

First post here as well as searching for my first RV. There's just 2 of us and I'm towing with a Chevy Trailblazer so I've limited my options to trailers around the 3500# or less mark.

I've found many floor plans I like but they all seem to be a trade off when you facto in the bathroom size between a wet bath or the bathroom that has a separate shower and toilet.

I've been looking at the Palomini's and the R-Pods although I'm leaning towards the Palomini. I can get the bedding and storage configuration I like with the smaller wet bat or I sacrifice space and bed configuration for the bigger bath.

The only experience I have is 3 weeks in Glacier N.P. and Yellowstone in a toy hauler that had a really small bathroom (corner shower) and we never used the shower when they were available elsewhere.

I'd like to hear from people with experience to give me some of the pros and cons of bathroom size, wet bath vs dry, vs living space.

All opinions welcome! Thanks!

You will find it's a matter of preference. Wife and I both use the camper shower and bath room. It is always cleaner than the cg's.

IMHO a large bathroom is a waste of space. I don't like wet baths but sometimes it's the price one pays for a small camper. Large bedrooms are equally wasteful. Better to have the large space where one spends more waking time eg. kitch/living area.

DH almost always uses the camper shower; I almost always use the one in the campground. In other words, that comes down to personal preference and where you are likely to camp. If you are going to dry camp or stay in national forest CGs, etc. and don't like waiting to shower for a few days, you'll want a shower in the camper.

As for wet vs dry showers - wet isn't bad, and certainly saves space, BUT you have to remember to put the toilet paper, towels, etc. away - anything you don't want to get wet! Kind of a pain, but it's do-able.

We do the same, wife uses the shower in the TT, I use the cg shower if available. We bought with a dry bath for the reasons listed above.

You'll probably hear a lot of you can't tow anything with a trail blazer. While not the most capable tow vehicle in the world, a 3500# trailer is no problem for it. I tow a 3500# TT with an Envoy and have no problems. I've towed thousands of miles across all kinds of terrain. Keeping it in third gear I get a steady 12.5 mpg towing. I installed a secondary trans cooler, heavy duty Bilstein shocks and use a WD hitch.

We have had a regular tub shower for about 12 years. We never use it (except as storage). Used the shower maybe 3 times in 12 years. Always use the campground shower or a few times the outside shower.
