First Trip in New TT, Already Hit a Fence...ugh

We took our new Jayco out this past weekend and had a great time...except when pulling it out from our yard I nicked a bolt on the fence and bent the vertical corner back exposing the wood.

We're leaving town this week and it's going to snow, so I decided to fill in with silicone (the type you'd use in the bathroom/kitchen at home). It seems like that will keep moisture out until I can get it to the dealer. I have no clue when that will be so I'm hoping it will be a good temporary solution.

I'm sure that the silicone probably wasn't the best thing to use...so how would you "repair" it? Maybe just a tarp would've worked?

Don't feel too bad. I violated the 2 cardinal rules of RV-ing ie: Never let anyone use the toilet (cost $300 to fix the clog), and never let anyone else drive the RV (to help out because I was tired, my friend insisted her hubby drive the RV the rest of the way home. He tagged a road reflector and scraped all the way down the side of my beautiful paint job. That'll probobly cost me another $300...) ***sigh*** live and learn...

Yeah I figured it might be a pain to remove...I'm hoping whoever does the repair doesn't complain too much haha.
