Freezer for my fish

We are in Alaska and just went Halibut fishing and got our limit. Now we have 100 lb of fish and its to expensive to ship and we won't be leaving until fall. We have heard of others who bought chest freezers and put them in the truck. We are considering this but want to know if the 150watt solar panel would be enough to run it? What about running off the lighter in the truck when moving?

Any info would be great. We are new to all this

Just out of curiosity how much is it to ship it. Hauling it that long of way could be worth a fairly hefty shipping fee in my opinion. If you get a freezer you must be talking about a 12 volt and if that's the case from what I read is as long as you drive you vehicle every other day you would be fine running off the cigarette lighter.

Find out how many amps or watts it takes to run the particular model freezer you are looking at. Honestly don't think a solar panel would suffice for that. On the road you may power it through an inverter running from the truck or, pack the freezer with dry ice. It will last many days.
