Kudos to Dometic who sent a mobile RV tech to perform the 2013 awning motor recall that affects all brands of RVs due to possible deploy issues while traveling. I initially called Jayco who told me I needed to go to a dealer, get approval, wait for part, then have it installed... What a joke!!! I called Dometic directly and they shipped part, made appointment, and had part installed at my seasonal site in under a week and a half!!

Depends, as this was a recall Jayco sent (requesting me to visit a Jayco dealer) I contacted them first. However, as you've mentioned I've had good luck with direct appliance manufacturer warranty service!

Isn't this the way all appliance warranty issues are to be handled anyway? It would never occur to me to call Lance if my Atwood water heater goes on the fritx.
