Memory seats

Anyone that has the memory seat feature in their vehicle. Do you use it or do you have it disabled? I've been using mine but got to wondering whether the constant use of the seat motor when you enter and exit would wear out the motor faster. My previous vehicle had power seats but not the memory feature so I just set it and never moved the seat again.

We mostly use it with my wife's Enclave because we both drive it. My truck has it but I only use it when vacuuming under the seat. It just makes it easy to get back in the right spot.

I use it but when it slides forward I lift my big butt up so not as much weight is on the seat. My thinking is it won't wear out as fast.

Yes the use will wear things out, but in the grand scheme it's not something worth worrying about.

my experience
car 1: 190K miles, never an issue
car 2: 250K+ miles never an issue
Car 3: 97K miles never an issue
car 4: 65K miles never an issue
car 5: 60K miles never an issue

conclusion, it's a great feature, use it.
On all the vehicles they have a "exit" feature, open the door and the seat moves to a set exit position as well.

It's on the must have list for any vehicle

I have it on my 2018 Lariat and use it every day. It’s on my coupe and my wife’s SUV too.

I have it in my new truck and generally like it.

WRT wearing out the motors, highly unlikely. More likely to damage a gear, but the seat tracks undergo extensive testing.

Are you talking about the “easy entry” feature that slides the seat back so you can exit easier? Too much use of the power seat.

I use mine. When I shut off my truck the seat retracts to it's rear position and when starting my truck it moves forward to it's set position. This has been working for 9.5 years and not a single issue with this feature to date.
