Need help with VIN

Hi all-

I recently inherited a 2004(?) Sportsmaster travel trailer from my father's estate, but we don't seem to have a title for it. I'd like to request a replacement title, but I also don't know where to look for the VIN. It doesn't seem to be anyplace obvious. Can anyone who's familiar with this brand give me some ideas as to where to look for it?

Thanks!

Thanks everyone! It was on the tongue under the battery containers.

I had a Sportsmaster too. Mfg. was Kit, they are now out of business. VIN was stamped into the metal of the tongue. It could be gunked up with dirt, road grime, or paint. You might have some luck reading it if you do the old "put a paper over the area and rub with a pencil" to get an image of it.

Just because someone died and you have a death certificate, doesn't mean you inherited any items once owned by the deceased. In most states, the executor of the estate will have to execute documents transferring ownership.

Check for an imprinted stamp on the trailer tongue. If not there, possibly on the frame towards the rear of the trailer. Also, check inside all the interior cabinets for a manufacturer sticker that should have all the weights on it.

Edit...Sorry. Guess me and wing were typing at the same time!

Probably stamped on the frame on the tongue somewhere, and also usually on a sticker near the bottom of the trailer, somewhere on the right side.
