New TT member & first trip report

Just wanted to say hi. Just finished our first trip, from Reno up to the Oregon coast & back. I have a 2006 Jazz 3100BH. Saw some questions earlier about Oregon 42, and I can report that even on Oregon 42S, from Bandon up to Coquville, I had no trouble pulling 35' even as a newb. Sure, there are curvy parts, but I just followed the recommended speeds on the signs, and pulled out at the turnouts to let the few cars go by that were behind me, and all was fine. US-199 to Crescent City was far worse.

I'll tell you what really freaked me out though was the I-5 pass crossing from CA to OR. Wow... what a steep downgrade. I just about had to change my shorts!

I'll take a curvy 2 lane state road any day over that plummet! 🙂

Welcome to the group! And you're right...some of those roads will re-activate your prayer life REAL FAST. I recall a few years ago pulling our TT down highway 101 in California with rock walls on one side and 18 wheelers zinging past me on the other all on a VERY narrow highway. Weeeeeeeeee!!!!

The grade from Calif. to Oregon is what the "Exhaust Brake" was made for. Wouldn't tow without one:)

Welcome to the forum. It can get quite habit forming to read and respond to all the posts. Nice report. What were you pulling that 35 with.
