My wife used to put those air fresheners that plug into the wall, all over the house.
After a while I started having serious breathing issues. The doctor eventually suggested removing the air fresheners, and my issues disappeared. He also suggested that most, if not all fresheners, whether plug-in or spray, can cause weird side effects.
On my new trailer, I just opened the doors and windows and let it vent naturally....no problems after that.

New smells better than used hands down. Buy new and just air it out for a few days or spray some Febreze or something not really something to worry about IMHO.
You might want to read up on FeBreze...............
Most "air fresheners" are a Pandora's box.
"Spraying something" just increases the potential for more problems.

Wood Glue: I apologize if I snipped those multiple quotes incorrectly and attributed something to you that you didn't post. But I agree, those "green certifications" look like something a manufacturer could buy........

Jayco claims to build their RV's to CARB/Proposition 65 standards. Seems that CARB aggressively protects their rules and goes after any manufacturer of anything that claims their product is CARB compliant but isn't.
So who are we to believe???????????:h

From what I have read and experienced, VOCs off-gas the most when new and the odors either disappear or dwindle, but some never stop off-gassing.
I have now pretty much decided that if I can't tolerate the odor when I am shopping, then I will not be able to buy it. If all else fails, we may have to get an old airstream, gut it out and redo it ourselves with materials that we can tolerate.
