Newbie: Feedback on Highland Ridge Open Range?

Hello everyone!

This is my first post to the rv.net forums - be gentle. ๐Ÿ™‚

My family and I are about to pull the trigger on our very first travel trailer. We've think we've settled on the 2017 Highland Ridge Ultra Lite UT2802BH.

I was wondering if anyone had any general feedback on this brand as a entry-level trailer. This particular model is a new floor plan, and we've seen others in this line and they seem well made.

By the way, we plan to pull it with our 2016 F-150 SuperCrew 3.5L V6 EcoBoost w/max towing package - everything my simple brain has calculated tells me we should be OK here.

Thanks so much for any feedback you can provide!
James

Looks good to me. Holding tanks and fresh water look fine.

We have been happy with our 2013 Open Range TT. It is not a light weight so kind of hard to compare. We're in the 12,000# range and pull with a one ton diesel. We've had a couple of problems but never anything I could not fix. Never back to the dealer for anything so far.

We've had a 2015 Open Range 216 for a year and a half so far. Haven't had to take it back to fix anything yet. Never been back to the dealer.

The Furrion radio quit working. Called Furrion and they sent a new one and I swapped it out in about 10 minutes. No charge.

I did break a Lippert axle leaf spring at the end of last summer on our way from WY back to TN. Called Lippert and they sent 2 new springs and a mobile tech to install them. All at no cost to me except for spending 3 extra days in the campground.

Mine's not an UltraLite. Loaded up it's #7,800 with around #900 TW. I pull it with a Nissan Armada (rated 9,100 towing and 910 TW) and it tows great. Probably towed 20,000 miles so far. I did add a wet bolt kit and a Honda generator.

Open Range was bought by Jayco then Jayco was bought by Thor. I don't know if that has made any difference.

When seconds count, the police are only minutes away.
