Update 1: It looks like there is plenty of interest and I have a location worked out! It's called Jug Handle Creek Farm located on the coast just North of Mendocino. The dates are April 26th to the 29th. This place looks to be amazing given it's location and campsite areas they have available (just 5 minutes from the beach). I'm working on a deal to reserve their entire private"campground" which holds 20 trucks to start with (with possibility of overflow for a few more) for 4 days / 3 nights. Estimated cost right now is $150 per camper (with 2 people). I will continue to post updates at the top of this thread as details become available.

Update 2: I have booked the facility and we have a limited time to get enough signed up to have the campground to ourselves. We were able to come up with a better price of $150 for early bird reservations if you book before 1 January 2018. After 1 January 2018 the price may rise.

Proposed Schedule:
Thursday 7pm - Icebreaker + Margarita Night around Campfire

Friday 8am - Coffee, Juice & Bagels
Friday 9am - Explore Jug Handle Creek Farm and Nature Preserve
Friday 2pm - Beach Time!
Friday 6pm - Taco Bar + Potluck Appitizers
Friday 7pm - Campfire with Smores & Jalapeno Popcorn

Saturday 8am - Pancake Breakfast
Saturday 9am - Hike for those interested
Saturday 2pm - Mod Shop / Seminar Shop / Camper Tours
Saturday 7pm - Campfire + Dessert Potluck

Sunday 8am - Coffee, Juice & Bagels
Sunday 9am - Group Photos
Sunday 12pm - Picnic at the Beach then Farewells

Notable Notes:
1. This is a boon docking rally, full hookups are not available. Plan accordingly.
2. Pets are allowed but must be on a leash (this is a nature center with many wild animals about).
3. Trailer parking will be available though it will likely be near the road.
4. Showers are available at a nearby beach park.

Space is limited so RSVP soon!

Update 3: Payment link is now just a PayPal link instead of my website as it is easier and doesn't require so much information.

To send payment for the event, please use this PayPal link.

Hey everyone.

As has already been said above, kudos to Robert and Evelyn for planning and leading this get together.

We had a great time and enjoyed everyone's cooking, stories and expertise. There was a lot of TC experience on display in that field.

Do we really have to wait a whole year to do another one?

Oh, and Ski, did I miss the swap meet? ๐Ÿ˜‰

It was great to meet you all and special thanks to Robert and his bride for putting this together. I'm hoping this was a 'first annual' event and that we'll gather again next year.
The weather was kind, holding off rain to the night time hours after we were all tucked in bed. No wind! Great FOOD! Blessed conversation!
I picked up some good tips I'll be incorporating into our TC. Everyone's TC showed real pride of ownership.

I'll see if I can figure out how to post photos.

Hey everyone, thanks for an awesome weekend together! The Mrs. and I thoroughly enjoyed hosting you all at Jug Handle Creek Farm. Everyone was super nice which made our jobs easier and stress free. It is a rare event that we put on where I feel completely relaxed and this is one of them! I'll be working on the photos and contact information today and tomorrow so keep an eye out on your e-mail boxes.

I got a bunch of 'stuff' I'm bringing. Stuff to swap, trade, give away. It's good stuff too! Anyone want to have a sort of swap meet of stuff you know is good but just taking up room in the garage, bring it along.

I want to be sure about Friday night;
We are to provide an appetizer and/or side dish that goes with tacos and the tacos are provided?

I have several ripe avocados and want to make some guacamole if I got it right.

I've looked over the campground map and wondering a couple things;
1. Can we just set up any place open or what?
2. How early on Thursday can we arrive?
3. How does check-in even work? Do they have our names on file? I think I got a paypal receipt to something called firelightadventures? I could print that I suppose.

I'll confirm check in for Thursday but anticipate it will be mid afternoon (between 2pm and 3pm). We won't have the entire campground booked to ourselves so when you check in, make sure they know you are with the Truck Camper Rally and ask where to setup. They should keep us fairly close together as much as possible.

At check in, just let them know your with the Truck Camper Rally event and you can drop my name, Robert if need be.

Also, I've been sending out e-mails to the email addresses I have received giving some basic updates. If you haven't received any e-mails from me in the last couple of weeks, let me know and I'll double check your address.

Last call for stragglers! We are very close to our trip and we are looking for a final headcount now. If there are any fence sitters, now is the time to jump in!

Hi everyone! It is hard to believe but we are quickly coming up on our Rally next month. It is time to start the detailed planning process. This is our first rally we will be hosting so those of you that have attended other events, please feel free to chime in with some ideas.

Proposed Schedule:
Thursday 7pm - Icebreaker + Margarita Night around Campfire

Friday 8am - Coffee, Juice & Bagels
Friday 9am - Explore Jug Handle Creek Farm and Nature Preserve
Friday 2pm - Beach Time!
Friday 6pm - Taco Bar + Potluck Appitizers
Friday 7pm - Campfire with Smores & Jalapeno Popcorn

Saturday 8am - Pancake Breakfast
Saturday 9am - Hike for those interested
Saturday 2pm - Mod Shop / Seminar Shop / Camper Tours
Saturday 7pm - Campfire + Dessert Potluck

Sunday 8am - Coffee, Juice & Bagels
Sunday 9am - Group Photos
Sunday 12pm - Picnic at the Beach then Farewells

This schedule is not fixed and I welcome suggestions. I do want to try to balance the amount of social time together as a group but also allow individual time to relax and explore on our own. Also, the events like beach time and hikes will be for those that feel like participating, otherwise use that time to explore something read a book, take a nap, etc...

Things I will need some help with...
Pictures: I generally take lots of pictures throughout the day and will create a shared Google Photos Album. If you like to take pictures and want to contribute to the album, let me know!

Mod Shop / Camper Tours: BigfootFord has offered to do a seminar talk on Multi-Meters. If anyone else is interested in giving a short seminar (any solar experts?...) let me know.

Campfires: If someone wants to take on the responsibility of building / maintaining campfires that would be great!

Icebreakers: We have a couple of ideas for an icebreaker to get started but if anyone really enjoys doing this sort of thing and wants to take it on let me know!

So... let the ideas roll and I'll update this schedule / list accordingly. I would like to have things finalized by the 12th.
