Pilgrim Travel Trailers

I am buying a used 30' Pilgrim Bunk house travel trailer. It has 2 slides. I couldn't bring it home because it had a gas leak and the front slide would not close. They were working to figure out the problem when I left. Is this a regular problem with Pilgrim campers or is this just a fluke? Are Pilgrim campers good campers?

Laundry chutes? So that is what those things are for! Ha. I do like the setup of the camper. This one is a bunk house with 2nd slides. The previous owner pulled out the jack knife sofa and the top bunk and built a framed twin bed in it's place. It eliminated the space for the outside storage access. I an taking it back to original with a slight modification on the top bunk to fold it down against the wall instead of up. It should fit behind the top edge of the sofa. This will allow us to still see out the side window when the bunk isn't in use.

I have a Pilgrim 312bhss, excellent trailer! This is my 3rd unit. I found that the pilgrim offered some features that others didn't offer. I have only performed regular maintenance on it. I feel the construction is excellent. Real plywood floors instead of OSB, large pass through, and built in laundry chutes on either side of the master bed.

Pilgrim made a pretty decent trailer but as mentioned they didn't survive the economic downturn. Evergreen picked up some of their brain power as well as some of the composite technology.

Pilgrim International entered the business as a startup around 2003 and went bankrupt in 2009. Their intent was to move construction from wood products to composites, but they didn't get very far with that. The timing was such that they were at the RV shows when I was shopping, so I got to see the brand. I did not think that they were any better or worse than the budget models from larger manufacturers like Coachmen, Gulfstream, Fleetwood's low price brands like Pioneer.

if an example on a lot has problems, they may not be any more likely or more difficult than other brands, but it is up to a dealer to work out a fix, because there is no longer factory support.

Evergreen bought some of the technology, but is not supporting the Pilgrim product.
