I have a 2010 Rockwood Popup

It has an electic winch, today i tried to pop it up and it won't move

I took apart the casing and you can see a pic of it here the wire came out of the hole

The frayed part had some sort of tape on it. There is no other loose or frayed ends anywhere on this wire i have check. It did pop up and down aobut 2 weeks ago just fine

I assume that frayed end went into the hold and a bolt held it underneath, but i can't find out who made the electic system for this popup or even a diagram of it

Any help be greatly apprecaited

When you run the motor so that it lowers the roof all the down, what position is this plate in? Is it somewhere in the middle, or is it all the way at one end or the other?

I'm thinking you may have run the motor up part way and therefore moved the plate when you originally reattached the cable for the roof to the spool. Seems like you need to detach the cable, run the motor all the way down to the bottom position and reattach the cable. See what that does for you.

And thank you for the pictures. They are helpful on this end.

Actually i just found out what i need to do, but i can't seem to figure out how to do it, as i cant find it online

See that black peice of metal, that is the way the jack tells where to stop it. i have removed the top bolt/screw and it is still not high enough, do youknow how to move the actual plate, without taking entire thing apart?

I was able to get it back in, but there is another major problem....it will now only go up half way, the jack just stops...so i guess i am looking at a professional job now -_-

If the cable came out of the drum rather than broke, I'm thinking you're likely just missing the "keeper", which should look like the one below. The page I took that pic from says there are two different models of drum, so you'd need to determine which you have before proceeding. Details/instructions at this link.

I for one can't see the picture...

Goshen has been making popup lifts for Rockwood for years, though I think the electric motors are added by the trailermaker. I've seen other cable-failure reports- at least one fellow at the Popup portal says the motorized upfit is the cause. Link to that thread

Anyway: information related to fixing the cable part of the lift itself including parts diagrams can be found at the following link:
