The guy wants to sell 2005 Aliner expedition. I asked him what model is it. He said it is model DL. This is new to me. I thought Aliner expedition has two model - LX or LXE? I look up NADA and nothing show up DL model. Okay now That trailer has no hook up but only electric hook up. No hot water tank. Has two stablizer jacks. I thought All Aliner come with 4 crank down jacks, hot water tank and full hook up - cable, water and electric?

Yes, there's a DL model in the older Aliners. Have the floor inspected carefully on this older model. Older models had known floor issues.

Don't sweat the lack of a water heater-it's an option, even on the new Aliners. Since there's no bathroom, it's no biggie. Our 2012 doesn't have one (we opted not to spend the $400 and have the added weight of one), and we simply bought a cheap hot pot to heat water for dishwashing, etc. It doesn't take up nearly as much room as a hot water heater, and it was about $385 cheaper! It also heats up needed water in about 5-10 minutes.

Older models didn't come with as many amenities as the newer ones. You can have 2 more stabalizers added easily, I'd think. If yours doesn't have brakes, it's not a problem, unless you're towing with a small vehicle. Then it's a problem. We have brakes on our 2012 Classic, but it's nearly 2000 lb. and I tow it with a Pathfinder.

I recommend joining the A Frame group on Facebook - lots of friendly and knowledgeable people there, some of whom own the older Aliners and can answer any questions you might have.

No inspection for trailers in PA under 3000 lbs. My Aliner is listed at 995 lbs on the title but I added electric brakes so the unit could be more safely towed with a smaller vehicle. One needs to consider that there is still a half ton of weight pushing on you when you try to stop.

I purchased a used 2004 Aliner DL several years ago. It did not have a water or waste water hook-up and only two rear stabilizers . I added a small grey water waste tank, electric brakes, a side mounted AC unit, and other smaller mods.

My observation has been that NADA prices are considerably lower than what most Aliners actually sell for on the used market. Used units are difficult to find and most are sold privately on classifieds such as Aliner Club Classifieds, Craiglist, etc. Units sold privately are not reported to NADA.
