Questions about moving to a 2008 Jayco EXP232

My wife and I are looking at a 2008 Jayco EXP 232. The length is 25ft, width 8ft and dry weight is 4290. Gross weight is 5500.

I drive a 98 Suburban K1500. We currently have a 2000 Rockwood Roo 21. Length is 21ft, width is 7.5ft and dry weight is 2700. Gross is around 5000.

We like the Jayco but I am concerned about moving up over 4000lbs and adding 4 ft of length.

With the Roo, I am using a 2" ball and weight distributing hitch rated up to 10,000 and 1000 tongue weight and an anti sway bar.

The Jayco needs a 2 5/16" ball. Am I going to be able to use any of the stuff I already have or am I going to have to buy new/used for the Jayco.

Also what changes would I expect with the added weight of the Jayco? My truck has 210,000 miles.

Did I say that my wife really likes the Jayco?

thanks for any info/advice,

Terry

I really don't think you will have any problems. We pull our '07 232 with our '06 F150 which will soon have 200,000km's on it.

Out tongue weight is almost 800lbs, heavier than I thought it should be, but it could have been weighed with the water tank full.

We use a 1000/10,000 Equal-i-zer hitch.

Enjoy.
