So excited to try the new truck out for truck camper hauling duty.

New truck has a lot more power than my 2011. Also seems a lot beefier in the frame, transmission, axles etc... 14K GVW.

Both my 2011 and 2016 are Laramie Black on black 4*4 with 4.10 gears, but lots of little new cool stuff, Navigation and instrument panels are a lot better.

I stand corrected. I'll order a '19 then!

I hear that all the time at work. "I am going to buy next year when.....changes". I understand that, but in a competitive business, something better is always just around the corner.

True but with only 81k on my truck...I'm not due for a while. So I usually wait till a model year change, let the bugs get worked out then I buy. Just like the current gen of '16, it is a good year to upgrade. If I was due now...this is a good year to jump. Won't be many changes on the '17, with a redesign the following year.

Nice truck.

Good for you!

Oh, and Sirius reception on mine, with truck camper on board, seems good.

The only thing I don't like is the Sirius '"Fin" that they put between the cxlearance lights. But GM and Ford have done it as well. Can't believe that all 3 would save a nickel to not have to run the wire to the rear of the cab.
Such a small complaint on an otherwise awesome truck!

^^Not sure if you are critiquing the placement, or the way they run the wires. It is my understanding that they moved the placement of the antenna for better reception - less chance of interference from a cab over camper or such.

Maybe I should have noticed this was in the TC forum... That would make sense for better reception under a TC than the back.

For the TorkLifts and since you may be close enough, did you consider offering them your truck for fit?

Before you road, can tell you my 2015 with the plastic bed rail cap is 1/4" deeper. This meant my 2004 Lance 815 which used to just clear the bed would just rest on the bed rail. Had to make a 3/4" platform to raise the camper.

did you order or consider the factory auto leveling air bag suspension? I have yet to hear of anyone with this and a heavy TC.

Nope cause I'd rather have steel springs holding up the TC. Didn't even look at the pricing of it. And earlier it looked like the airbags were inward so that would make the sway worse.

I had a 2005
I had a 2011
I have now a 2016

Went from the 2005 to the 2011 for the real CrewCab.
Went from 2011 to the 2016 for more power, 14K GVW and the little refinements.

In 2021 or so I'm sure i'll get the urge for new leather smell and have some reason to do it.

Buy exactly what I want brand new, take it up to about 100K miles and than boom, new one 🙂

Very nice truck!

I'm waiting to see the redesign for 2017, then order my 2018 once they work the bugs! Rumors of a 10 speed auto and over 1000 lbs of torque!

Love the black. Super slick.
