2 years ago we noticed a small amount of water under the antenna crank. went on roof to check it out and found the rubber seal for the cable was off. re attached it put some silicone around it and though we were good. While I was there I looked at the sealant around the antenna and it looked fine. Never noticed water again, however this year when we opened it up we found evidence that water had come in around crank again. Did some research and thought that it was the O-rings on the shaft. While inspecting the antenna sealant (which at first glance appears fine) I pulled up on it and the entire seal on the meatal antenna base just lifted off. So now I know where my water was getting in.
I removed the antenna and found the roof sheathing and interior ceiling to be quite wet. It was a sunny and windy day so I stuffed some spacers between the rubber roof and the decking to help it dry.
I have covered the antenna hole with plastic and taped it down for now.
What if anything can I do about the mold that I no doubt have? I am not putting the antenna back on for a bit, I want to continue to dry out the deck.
Unfortunately for me I think this has been this way for a few years. Never had a mold smell in trailer.
Have always done a visual inspection of the seals on the roof and they have looked good. Re did the skylights with Eternabond about 4 years ago.
Thanks for any input, sorry about the length
